We are currently showcasing the seasonal Valencia oranges, which were hybridized by William Wolfskill and named after the sweet oranges of Valencia, Spain. He later sold his patent of Valencia oranges to the farmers in Irvine, CA, which lead to the naming of Valencia, California.
Oranges contain Vitamin C, fiber, potassium, choline and is rich in Vitamin A. Peels and pith contain more fiber than the fruit inside and contain flavonoids and phytonutrients, which have anti-inflammatory benefits. The pith also contains hesperidin, which protects the heart by lowering blood pressure and regulating cholesterol levels.
