ONYX COFFEE
RWANDA KANZU STATION NATURAL
Just west of Lake Kivu, the Kanzu station rests among mineral-rich volcanic hills where smallholder farmers grow Bourbon coffee alongside bananas and beans. For this natural lot, ripe cherries are hand-sorted and dried whole on raised beds for up to 30 days, allowing sugars to concentrate slowly within the seed. The result is a fruit-forward, structured cup shaped by altitude, terroir, and careful drying, reflecting Rwanda’s continued rise as a standout origin in specialty coffee.
Notes of: Dried Apricot, Cantaloupe, Agave, Bittersweet Chocolate
PERU SAN MARTIN DE PANGOA
Santiago de Oropel sits between the soaring peaks of the Andes and the lush central jungle of Junín, Peru, a rare convergence of altitude and tropical microclimates that creates ideal conditions for exceptional coffee. Though the community endured significant hardship during the political unrest of the 1980s and 1990s, families have since returned to rebuild their farms and livelihoods. Today, Oropel’s coffees reflect both the biodiversity of this unique landscape and the resilience of the producers who cultivate it.
